With a Diplôme de Cuisine in French Cuisine and an array of certifications from renowned institutions like Le Cordon Bleu, Pure Joy Culinary Academy, and BITC, Lynette Foo’s passion and expertise in the culinary arts are second to none. From perfecting raw food techniques to mastering Asian pastries, her culinary education is as diverse as it is impressive. Combining her love for teaching with culinary excellence, Lynette also holds an Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) and is a Ministry of Education (MOE) registered instructor in Singapore.

From Accounting to Culinary Entrepreneurship

Lynette’s culinary career didn’t follow a conventional path. Although she was offered an apprenticeship at the prestigious Summit Restaurant in Sydney during high school, she initially pursued a career in Accounting, earning a KPMG scholarship while attending university at the University of New South Wales. After over 12 successful years in the corporate sector across Australia, Asia, and Switzerland, she realized her true passion lay in the kitchen, not at a desk. Combining her business acumen and culinary enthusiasm, Lynette founded Palate Sensations in 2005 from her home kitchen.

Her philosophy? Cooking should be fun, fuss-free, and accessible to everyone. Lynette firmly believes that with a little practice, anyone can find joy and confidence in the kitchen.

The Birth and Growth of Palate Sensations

Lynette’s vision for Palate Sensations began as a way to share not just recipes, but a love for global cuisines. What started in a home kitchen quickly grew into a flourishing business. By 2006, interest in hands-on cooking classes was soaring, and Lynette launched a dedicated culinary studio in Singapore. Relocating to Biopolis in 2010, she extended her offerings to a space where aspiring chefs and home gourmands alike could bridge the gap between casual cooking and professional training. Equipped with cutting-edge tools, the studio empowers participants to cook with the very best equipment available.

Expanding her impact further, Lynette launched Palate Sensations Team Building Malaysia in 2023, offering corporate teams in Kuala Lumpur dynamic culinary experiences tailored to foster teamwork and creativity.

Culinary Expertise Meets Global Inspiration

Lynette’s cooking style is a delightful blend of her Aussie upbringing and her travels worldwide. Whether experimenting with new ingredients or perfecting old favourites, her passion for global flavours continues to drive her. She now collaborates with a talented roster of chef instructors while she focuses on PR, marketing, and business development for Palate Sensations, ensuring its position as a top culinary destination.

Beyond the Kitchen

Lynette’s life is a testament to discipline and an adventurous spirit. When she’s not shaping the future of culinary education, she’s scaling mountains, running half marathons, or taking on challenging treks around the world. From Everest Base Camp to Mount Kilimanjaro, her zest for life mirrors her entrepreneurial energy.

Lynette also holds an MBA from IMD, Switzerland, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. Passionate about holistic living, she’s an ACE-certified personal trainer, advocating for health and fitness for women, especially seniors. True to her values, Lynette is a strong supporter of animal welfare, living by the “adopt, don’t shop” philosophy, and sharing her home with three spirited rescue cats.
